2) Set a plan. Sign up for a 10k, a half-marathon or a local triathlon. Preparing for the event is a great way to stay motivated and get in shape. You can even join a local running club and meet like-minded healthy people like yourself!

3) Being fit is one of the greatest investments in yourself. Don't focus on what you are giving up; focus on what you will gain by getting in shape. I remind myself of this every time I take a couple of hours to go on a bike ride or run. You will never regret a workout.

4) Use the power of visualization and see yourself reaching your goals. Whether it's visualizing your next hard workout and how good you will feel when you get it done or visualizing how you will feel once you reach your fitness goals.

5) Have fun! Try something like a salsa class, snowboarding or surfing lessons, a yoga class, tennis or something you wouldn't normally do. Make fitness a part of your lifestyle and you will feel healthy.
